About Me

I’m Harriet, a Clinical Animal Behaviourist working under Through Eyes of Dogs.

My work focuses on helping you understand what is happening for your dog emotionally, physically and within their environment, so behaviour can be responded to with clarity rather than control.

If you’re here, it’s likely something isn’t feeling straightforward. Behaviour can feel confusing, overwhelming, or even worrying at times. My role is to help you make sense of it, and guide you through what to do next.

I have over 25 years’ experience living and working with dogs, having grown up on a farm in rural Kent where they were part of everyday life. From an early age, I was drawn not just to what dogs were doing, but why, a curiosity that continues to shape my work.

Alongside my academic training, I spent thirteen years as a Police Officer. That background developed my understanding of human behaviour, communication under pressure and working within complex, emotionally charged situations . All of which are highly relevant when supporting both dogs and their owners.

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour and work within recognised professional and ethical frameworks. My approach is welfare-led, pain-aware and grounded in current research and clinical practice.

I do not focus on suppressing behaviour. Instead, I work to understand what is driving it and support you in responding in a way that improves both your dog’s wellbeing and your relationship together.

Through Eyes of Dogs was created to reflect that perspective — helping you see behaviour more clearly and feel more confident in how you move forward.

I offer in-person sessions across Hampshire, as well as remote consultations throughout the UK and internationally.
