A short introduction video on how I work and what you can expect.
Living with a dog who is struggling can feel exhausting, confusing and at times, quite isolating.
Whether itβs reactivity, anxiety, or behaviour that feels unpredictable, these responses donβt happen without reason.
Behaviour reflects how a dog is coping with their environment, experiences, and physical state.
My work focuses on understanding that properly so that we can create meaningful, lasting change.
Many owners come to me having already tried training advice, classes, or spent hours searching online for answers β often with the best intentions.
With so much information available, it can quickly become confusing, overwhelming and at times, conflicting.
Some approaches may help in the moment.
But when behaviour is being influenced by something deeper, such as emotional overwhelm, past experiences, or underlying discomfort, focusing only on the behaviour itself can miss whatβs actually driving it.
This can leave both you and your dog feeling stuck, despite putting in time and effort.
This isnβt about trying to ‘fix’ your dog or suppress behaviour.
I take the time to understand whatβs driving it, looking at your dogβs experiences, environment and physical comfort, not just what youβre seeing on the surface.
From there, youβll be guided through clear, practical steps that feel manageable in real life. without judgement or the use of aversive methods.
All behaviour work is carried out on veterinary referral, allowing me to work alongside your vet and ensure your dogβs physical and emotional wellbeing are supported together.
Whether youβre starting from the beginning or looking to build on existing skills, training provides an opportunity to strengthen your relationship and create more clarity for your dog.
Sessions focus on practical, everyday situations, helping your dog feel more confident, responsive, and able to cope in the environments you share.
If your dogβs behaviour is causing concern, stress, or feels difficult to manage, this support looks beyond the surface.
Together, we explore what may be influencing your dogβs responses and build a structured plan to help them feel safer, more settled and better able to cope.
Choosing the right support for your dog can feel overwhelming, especially when youβre not sure what approach is best or who to trust.
Itβs important that you feel comfortable with the person you choose to work with, which is why I offer a free discovery call before committing to any support. This gives you the opportunity to talk things through, ask questions, and decide whether the approach feels right for you and your dog.
My name is Harriet, and Iβm a Clinical Animal Behaviourist with a degree in psychology and a focus on evidence-based, pain-aware practice. My work centres on understanding what is happening for your dog emotionally, physically and contextually, so behaviour can be approached with clarity rather than control.
If youβd like to learn more about my experience, approach, and qualifications,Β you can learn more about my experience, approach, and qualifications below.Β
This is a short, informal call to talk through whatβs going on for you and your dog and to see whether Iβm the right person to support you.
